Can you open a bug for that one? -----Original Message----- From: Curt Christianson [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, January 19, 2011 7:49 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Email Channel Its not just that I "think" it should be in, it should be. The only reason I say that is because of the New User Notifications and Comments notifications. These are options already selectible in the admin tools. They should either be removed from the base and become part of the mail/messaging addin or the addin needs to be included. The app is really broken otherwise. The idea is that there aren't two people who want the same set of modules out of the box. You have a full spectrum from those who want as little as possible and those who want everything, including the kitchen sink. For a number of reasons, we went for a minimalist distribution for 1.0 but we are probably going to build that feature pretty soon and it's going to make a lot of things a lot easier. One really nice thing about it is that those distributions will be cumulative. More on that later. But in the end, the choice of included modules will be a lot less important. I do note that you think e-mail messaging must be in. -----Original Message----- From: Curt Christianson [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, January 19, 2011 6:37 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Email Channel Nah, it was what they said. I still vote for that to be included. Its silly you can enable options in the base product that you can't use without an installed addin. ------Original Message------ From: Ken Cox To: [email protected] ReplyTo: [email protected] Subject: Re: Email Channel Sent: Jan 19, 2011 8:29 PM Maybe it is looking for an SMTP server to be configured in IIS? -----Original Message----- From: Curt Christianson Sent: Wednesday, January 19, 2011 2:08 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Email Channel Ok, maybe I'm blind but I setup the site and went in to configure it. When I did I get a message that "Some Orchard.User settings require an Email channel to be enabled". Where can I do this? I don't see anything in the admin section/tools.
