I use clear pots only when I am trying to nurse a plant that has bad root development and I want to be able to closely monitor the growth and development of the roots. This helps me adjust the water and fertilizer to match the root growth, I am using them on Phals so I cut back on water and fertilizer until I see the plant growing good roots then I can increase them. Once it is healthy I move it into a clay or net pot which are my prefered pots. Unfortunately, the clear pots can get a good coating of algae so viewing the roots is a lost unless you use physan or another algaecide. I find clear pots do not last as long as colored plastic pots.
