Thank you Charlie for your information. I had one other person contact me off list, so your one post has helped two of us.

Since I am interested in this group I'll have to break down and buy it. I have G. bufonia in bloom right now on 3 spikes and G. truncata opened yesterday.

Having a heck of a time getting my 2 colors of galeata to put out new growths. I broke apart the mother plants, probably at the wrong time which seems to have made the pieces reluctant to send out new shoots. Of course it doesn't help that everytime a new growth starts I let water stand in the crown and it rots off. One of these days I really got to stop being such a slob when I water.

Anyway,

Thanks for your help!

In issue 212 K Barrett asked for details on Rudolf Jennys' book on Gongoras.
The history and description of each species is excellent, and there is a
photograph or painting of most of the species included in a section at the
end of the book. From my vantage point, details of habitat location and
elevation are are rather weak for some of the species, but then from my
vantage point, too much of this particular information is never enough. The
fact remains that if you are interested in the genus, I know of no other
single source of information on this group of orchids.

Cheers,
Charlie
