Dear K Barrett
My Aerangis is seed grown and not collected and I have grown it
outside. The temps range from a record low of 42 [normal is 50] to a
record high of 94 [normal is 90]. We are semitropical here and have a
definite rainy season [the spring] and a very dry winter. I water most
every day, year round because I get a lot of wind and am less than 100
yards from the ocean, but I water much longer in the late winter, spring
and summer than the fall and early winter [Dec, Jan]. I also use
methanol [Jerry's Grow] and seem to get a lot more rooting since I
changed to this type of fertilizer. I never use any low nitrogen
fertilizer on this species.
Maybe my good luck with this species is because of the salt in the air.

Good Luck
