One of the things that I have noticed about the 'new, improved' AOS "Orchids" is the softness/over-processed look of many of their pictures. Example: July 2004 issue and the set of pictures in "Australian Orchids Indoors" or the over sharpened pictures on pages 510 and 511. All look like they had a very unhappy run-in with Photoshop. AOS judging resists the use of digital images in recording awarded plants and then AOS seems to demonstrate in their magazine exactly why most of their award photographers prefer to use film even though digital quality and color fidelity are their potential equal.
