Is anyone out there growing chinese Cymbidiums? How do you grow them? I
have a sinense, and I've been getting a lot of conflicting information about
their culture. Some have told me to grow them with Phalaenopsis, while
others have told me to grow them with Cymbidium hybrids. Speak up and let
me know what you do, and like so many other things in this world the
majority will get its way.

Try http://orchidspecies.com/cymbsinense.htm I grow a number of species
(not sinense, yet) and I grow them all at the warms end of our normal
cymbidium greenhouse which is heated when the temps go down to 40F and
vented at 60F during the winter. In summer they take the temp of whatever I
manage to keep the greenhouse down to, which generally runs 70-90F. The only
2 I have that I grow with the Phals are aloifolium and chloranthum. They
appreciate the warmth all year (usually 60-85) but don't mind the drops to
50-55 which I use to "shock" the phals into blooming. I believe sinense
would fall in the first category appreciating the cooler winter.
