viz, from north east to south west and then south the distribution is tognettiae (La Puerta Venezuela) - Bot. Reg. plant (Merida Venezuela) - Dunsterville plant (Tachira Venezuela) - Bot. Reg. plant + virginalis (Ocana Colombia) - tognettiae (Guayabetal, Colombia) - virginalis (Cali, Colombia) --- eburnea+ virginalis (Ecuador) - virginalis + uniflora (Peru). The illustrations, while suggesting an influence of Anguloa eburnea, are not supported by the Lindley herbarium specimen, so I now believe that the Bot. Reg and the Dunsterville plants may be Anguloa tognettiae x Anguloa virginalis from the herbarium and geographical evidence.
