This heated exchange harkens back to a time years ago when I used to spend a lot of time on RGO... Remember that newsgroup? There used to be a personality on there that always had to dominate it. He had to be the only respected expert and anyone that jumped in to answer a question was razzed... And any innocent that unknowingly broke the no advertising rule by mentioning any orchid business but this guy's was soundly and publicly rebuked. His obsequious signature line with its 4 or 5 lines of advertising was ok. I remember a lot of people enjoying egging this megalomaniac on, myself included. It was fun to try to get the upper hand. I would get several emails from many that I defended who had come under his abuse. Remember what happened to him? Do you know of whom I speak? Email me privately if you want to reminisce. Anyway... It seems to me that every group has members with all kinds of personalities. There are always those that annoy, irritate and there are those that try to smooth things over... There are the petulant, the maternal, the bashful (you never hear from those), the happy-go-lucky, the fanatics, the ignorant and the knowledgeable... It does take all kinds. Let's agree that we all come from different cultures and walks of life. Let our differences become assets as we share our obsession with each other. Remember, a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.... :) Oh, hell, just keep on bashing each other. It makes for good entertainment after a long hard day at work.... LOL Barbara
