in a news story published today :
"Bob Fuchs, owner of R.F. Orchids, guides orchid trips to the same region [Southeast Asia]. Leona Bee, long in the orchid travel business, is retiring after a final trip to the World Orchid Conference in Dijon, France, in March.
...
Fuchs learned the travel ropes from his father Fred, who with Marlin Jacobson, ran Orchid Collectors Inc. in Homestead. ''They would take groups to collect in Central or South America, leaving the day after the Miami Orchid show,'' Fuchs said. ``As far as taking care of people and what they expect, I try to give my clients what I'd expect: service. My dad always did that.''
Orchids are a part of the tours, but since international treaties have banned collecting in the wild, they have become a less important focus. Instead, botanical gardens, orchid nurseries and national parks have come to the fore."

Am I wrong to believe that since international treaties have been adopted collecting in the wild by foreigners still exist in some countries and that plants are still introduced in other countries with tampered-with paperwork ?
