For what it is worth, the original founding purpose of the AOS was to
facilitate the importation of orchids into the USA. I am disappointed that
the AOS has not worked more effectively against CITES. As to the 501(c.) 3
rules, there are subsidiary lobby groups (PACS or what ever the post
McCaine-Hollings Act designation is) the AOS could help set up, that would
not be limited by 501c3, and then we could get a million dollar campaign
against CITES going. Why this has not happened yet, I don't understand.
There are enough Paph and Phrag nuts on this list alone that quite a group
could be put together.
