To: [email protected]
I rarely post here for the same reason that Guido and Peter have so expertly
exemplified. Over-reaction to a simple anecdote told to me ten years ago by
a known maverick. Not only were no names or places mentioned (besides
"Vietnam" and "Michael Kovach"), I never claimed I believed it. Which one
of these two are you two afraid of offending? There are simpler, less
caustic ways of saying "nice story friend, but not likely", but would I be
hoping for too much? LOL.
Sorry Ed, but I can't let you get away with this. What you do is typical for
people who make
a mistake and then try to slip away and put the blame on others. We have had enough of that
on this list.
In your postings there was not a single word indicating that you did not
believe it. At least neither I nor
Peter O'B could identify it, and I dare say that both of us have an adequate mastering of the English language.
And by the way, I had two telephone calls of lurkers who understood your message just like I and Peter did.
Neither Peter nor I offended Kovach or the state of Vietnam. It is YOU who
offended
the state of Vietnam by claiming that Vietnamese Authorities would kill people
because Kovach had informed
them that the people involved collected orchids for sale to foreigners.
I for my part am not afraid of offending Kovach. If he said what you claim he has said (and again, you posted that without
any comment of disbelief), then I consider Kovach an arrogant, bragging son of a bitch.
And if you post something meant to be identified as a sarcastic statement,
learn how to use sarcasm.
I can't say that I had LOL when writing this, and now, of course, some people will ask "me" to leave
politics off the list.
Regards to all
