look there on page 383 and you will find "albus = white"
You must have an older addition or a different printing, as it is on page 366 in mine (Fourth Edition the latest) . It appears as a sub definition under albens and the complete definition is "white, particularly a dull rather than a glossy white". But what was your point? as I never claimed it was otherwise.
"Albino" is not even listed by Stearn and it is not listed in the two Latin dictionaries I have either.
Thats correct it is not in Stearn's, but it is in other dictionaries that I have. I suspect (don't know for sure) the reason is that "albino" is not a true latin word. It may have been a French word that was derived from a latin root. Maybe some OGD member can clear this up.
My recommendation for Stearn's book was a generic recommendation for people that are interested in learning the proper terms or definitions and did not relate specifically to albino.
