I know this if off-topic, but sometimes the devil just makes me do it! <g> I was being sarcastic about people "choosing" to be gay, as it's not really a choice at all any more than being straight is.

I do think there is something called social responsibility and that social structures should not be based entirely on individual greed. I do think you're right, however, about supply and demand and cheap labor. But I think the rich white Republicans have a problem here. They want cheap labor, but they don't want the laborers who will work for wages that low (I suppose they should be invisible) or for them to have access to any social services. Sure, let's close the border (a good idea for security anyway) and be prepared to pay more so that workers can live a decent life the same way we white people with money expect to.
