I have to disagree with your statement, Andy, that "No-one with any orchid
savvy wastes time with the AOS Forum ".
I feel that I have some degree of "orchid savvy", and I spend a fair amount of
time there, trying to bring some logical, scientific understanding of "what's
really going on" to the otherwise casual and unthinking grower.
Unfortunately, it does appear to generally be a waste of time, but it seems to
me if we take an effete attitude and don't try to do SOMETHING to improve the
situation, we're as much to blame as anyone. It's sort of like a well-to-do
fat person putting down the destitute because they're hungry.
