Hi Does anyone perhaps know which species were used to make the first orchid hybrid. According to the Hortus Veitchii Calanthe x Dominii was the first hybrid orchid to bloom, although not the first seedling to be raised by hand. Does anybody know the name or parentage of the first hybrid seedling to be raised?
