I have very cockeyed conditions: 18 hour days, warm, from October to May, and
outdoors with yo-yo weather all summer. If I'm lucky, like this year, the
orchids get exposed to cool weather and short days before they have to come in.
If I have a mature orchid that refuses to bloom, especially a Paph, it spends
December in an unheated guest room without added light, food, or water
(delicate things are prevented from shriveling), or a visit from a lawyer.
Sometimes
it works.
