"black jewel orchid...
Ludisia discolor (Haemaria discolor)...
the jewel orchids are grown principally for their handsome foliage.
The black jewel orchid has... dark-maroon, velvety leaves with... red
parallel veins.
...
flowers... produced... from December to February, and are white and
slightly fragrant[I doubt it !]
with twisted yellow columns in the flower mouth.
The small flowers are borne on upright spikes with an overall height of
about 8 to 10 inches[some longer] and will remain in flower for a month or
more.

... native to Malaysia, Indonesia and Burma.
... terrestrial... growing in the shade of the trees on the forest floor...
The black jewel orchid is one of the easiest orchids to grow indoors.
I grew and flowered one for many years in... north-facing bay window...

basic requirements are high humidity, warm temperatures and a moist media.
They can be grown in terrariums or pots, and low to medium light is ideal
as they are tolerant of low light levels...
Some like this plant for growing in the bathroom to add a little splash of
color.

... can be planted in an equal parts of rich potting soil and Canadian Peat
moss mix. Or... in a soilless media such as Pro-Mix BX and add some
pear[per]lite to provide adequate drainage.

The black jewel orchid is easily propagated by cuttings placed in water or
put directly in the potting media. Cut below the stem's node"
