The Dutch couple drowned last month when the vehicle they were travelling in was swept off a low-level bridge... near Uniondale. Beijer, 79, and his wife, 70, had more than 200 plants in their collection... The entire collection was sold recently... The proceeds of the sale will go towards buying a trophy engraved with the Beijers' names, to be awarded for certain orchid culture achievements by members of the society...
