... in 2007 the Fort Pierce Orchid Society approached Heathcote with the
offer to refurbish the orchid house.
The Fort Pierce Orchid Society bought and installed a new shade-cloth roof,
cleaned, sealed and painted the interior walls, purchased materials and
constructed new benches for the plants to sit upon, purchased and spread
fresh gravel under the benches.
The Fort Pierce Orchid Society spent more than $1,000 and volunteered many,
many hours to complete the renovation.
The Fort Pierce Orchid Society meets the third Saturday of the month"
