I recently watched "World's Most Daring Robberies"
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvSGB82mUH8) and was surprised that much of
the CCTV footage contained audio (e.g. robbers talking).

It appears that, in the UK, the ICO in 2008 stated that CCTV should only record
audio in rare circumstances e.g. in police stations
(http://ico.org.uk/Global/~/media/documents/library/Data_Protection/Detailed_specialist_guides/ICO_CCTVFINAL_2301.ashx).

The Youtube footage is from a variety of counteries.  I'm wondering, though, if
the audio is fake as sometimes it seems too clear to be true.  Many of the
videos are black and white or the time stamp is from the 1990s.

Can anyone tell me what the situation is in the UK today and - if they want to
watch some robberies (!) - if the audio is by actors or is the 'real deal'.

Thanks!
