Subject: [Origami] Re strengthening boxes
Chris Lott enquired:
I've made some nice origami bowls and boxes using relatively thick,
textured scrapbook style paper. I plan to use them as part of gifts
and would like to make them more "permanent." What method(s) might
work for this?
Andrew added:
I would recommend spraying or brushing the boxes with clear lacquer, which
you should be able to find at an art supply, craft, or model store.

I have had success with a product by Krylon, called Crystal Clear Glaze. It
does dry clear, and tends not to leave brush marks (as other products do). If
there are locks that are internal, either glue them together, or use the
coating, and in both cases, clamp the area until dried. It has low odor, and
will clean with soap and water for 15 minutes. It doesn't crack. The bottle I
have came from Hobby Lobby and 8oz was $5.
