Hello,
If I have a specialist subject in origami, this is it. As I can not reliably
afford expensive, large or specialist papers, all my folding is done with 15 cm
square standard kami. I have tried many brands.
By far the best I have found is from Kidstoyo. The paper always holds a crease,
can be reversed comfortably multiple times, is more flexible and less prone to
bursting than some kami's, and is the most reliably and precisely square I have
found - the accuracy of 'square' being somewhat variable in my experience of
pre-packed kami. Also, only the very darkest blue sheets suffer from the
complaint of the dye coming off on the fingers. Even I can quite comfortably
fold models with circa 140 steps from this paper (if I don't mess it up that
is!)
Here is the best pack I buy: 500 sheets, 25 different colours (including,
black, white and grey - 1 sheet each of gold/silver foil) :

The link is to the shop from which I buy my packs - the Japanese Centre &
Cultural Exchange in Piccadilly, London. Excellent value at £6.50 per pack.
Sadly I suspect they will not deliver overseas, but here is a link to the
company website shop that shows their full range of papers, including *ahem*
their 'Hello Kitty' range: http://www.kidstoyo.co.jp/shop.html
If you can find a supplier, I recommend them. As a second choice Aitoh are
pretty good - the dye tends to rub off much more though (

I would avoid Crystal Edge & Folded Square Brands.
Kind Regards.
