Once again, a list member with an AOL email address has marked O-list mail as spam. (When this happens, we list admins get notified, but don't, for security reasons, get told who actually did it.)
Please please please, DO NOT do this! When this happens, we risk not being able to deliver email to the AOL servers, and risk the online reputation of the server in general. (We do *not* want to be labeled as spammers!) O-List mail is never spam, the list is always opt-in, and you are free to filter or delete anything that you don't wish to read... but it's never unwanted commercial email. Please distinguish carefully between trashing a message and reporting it as junk/spam/unwanted mail. (There are lots of ways for AOL users to interact with their mail and it's impossible for us to know how or why someone is doing this, or what user-interface loophole makes this possible.) The list subscription process is set up to be self-service; but if you ever have any problems with it, do not hesitate to get in touch with the list admins: <[email protected]> and we'll be happy to help. I'll be sending a message directly to the AOL users to remind them to be more careful in the future, and to please get in touch with us if they're having problems with the list. In the meantime, spread the word, this is not spam, consider switching to another ISP with a better interface, try folding something and tell us about it, etc., etc., etc. Sincerely, I remain, (one of) your list admin(s), Anne
