My father brought some porcelain ones from a Tokyo hotel in 1964. Just plain
white ones and they didn't have the name of the hotel on them so it was
probably (sort of) standard restaurant equipment. Mind you, it was a luxury
hotel as he had a high-ranking job and was there on a business trip. But it
is 50 years ago so they have been around for a while yet.
