I'm posting this on behalf of Marcee Raffel: It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I need to notify you all of the passing of Pat Ellis from Mechanicsville, Virginia.
Pat had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer back in 2011 when she was caring for her husband and it reoccurred this past September. Pat died on April 22 in the hospital with her daughter by her side. Pat had a huge heart and was a big part of the origami world. She was easily identified because she wore chopsticks in her hair with origami cranes dangling from them. She was very helpful to first time attendees including teaching them simplemodels. Pat was a great friend and will be sorely missed.
