Many of you must have experience teaching origami to kids, right? I wanted
to ask you, based on your experience, around what age can they fold neatly
and also correctly follow verbal and visual instructions from the teacher?
(Gerardo)...

for example, Sanny Ang here in Perth uses stories to teach, and I've seen
him successfully teach simple models to a cinema full of quite young
children (Clare)

Love the sound of 'Story Telling' Clare. Anybody have examples of that?

I did teach kids, and was careful in the choice/order of models and folds.
Tried to decsribe folds 'like a book', 'big triangle', etc. When it was a
big class, the keys I used were 'when youve done the fold, hold it up with
two hands and show me'. Then I get them to help the person next to them.

Ultimately age wasn't the factor of how well they did. Sure experience
counted, but it was more their willingness to try, persist, and be
patient/take time to be neat.
