Actually, I would disagree with this to some extent. For simplicity's
sake, I don't think the user should have to know or care how things get
downloaded, just that it happens. This may mean trying several URI's
that don't work before getting to the one that does, but I think its
worth it. Perhaps we could remember which method worked last time and
try it first the next, or detect conditions that may tell us that, say
FTP is blocked so ignore it, or maybe just provide some options for
advanced users to disable methods that they know won't work, but by
default, we should just do everything we can to make it work.
