If this can be done without too much trouble (and it sounds like it could be so), I'd be willing to spend some cycles for vmware testing.
I would vote that we do this on the 2.2 CVS branch, not on the head -- we can get away with slightly less testing and get 2.2.1 out quicker that way. If the changes are as minor as Jason described, committing it both on the branch and on the head should be no big deal. Comments? Stephen?
