DuChene (sad) >Assigned to: Jason Brechin (brechin) Summary: maui rpm does not include simulation trace files Initial Comment: One of the handy ways to check maui to see if it is working correctly is simulation mode (involves making some slight changes to the maui.cfg file). It uses some canned workload and resources trace files. These trace files get packaged with the maui tar file but when we create our rpm package they don't get included. They normally reside down in maui/traces/ as files called: traces/Resource.Trace1 traces/Workload.Trace1 We should package those with the rpm we supply in case someone wanted to test maui in simulation mode. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Jason Brechin (brechin) Date: 2003-06-26 12:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=274641 This has been in the maui RPM for a while... forgot to close the FR though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jason Brechin (brechin) Date: 2003-04-18 16:28 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=274641 I have a new RPM which includes the trace files. After testing, I will be checking it in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jason Brechin (brechin) Date: 2003-04-16 15:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=274641 This is a feature request. I am inclined to not include the sample files because it adds another megabyte (or so) for no real functionality. We test so that we know maui's config works. These traces only test whether your current maui config would work on a 224 node R6000 cluster running thousands of jobs. Since it doesn't actually run the jobs, it isn't even a real stress test. That said, I'll consider including the traces in the next release. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=359368&aid=722636&group_id=9368 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: INetU Attention Web Developers & Consultants: Become An INetU Hosting Partner.
