Erich,

I'm not sure how much work is actually been completed on the database merge
but I believe it is mainly an outline at this point. There are a few items
ahead of this for upcoming test releases.

That being said, it is primarily a time issue, rather lack there off. If
you have interest and time we (oscar devel) would love to have more help to
get that part of the system merged.

I myself will not be attending the Ottawa Linux Symposium (OLS) this year.
I'm not sure if anyone else who's active in oscar will be attending.

As you mentioned the database has space for this information, there was
just a coherency question b/c many of the SIS tools are still used in the
testing (CVS) area. Some of the items ahead of this, include routines to
help reduce the use of SIS tools and as I understand matter, this could
then make ODA the source that could generate a SIS database if the SIS
tools are used for management, etc.

Anyway, I hope that gives you a bit more information. Let us know if
you're interested in helping with development on this matter.

Other OSCAR developers: If I'm off base in my comments, please set me/Erich
straight! :)

later,
--tjn
