Hmmm, you didn't rebuild python-twister. Is that not needed in FC4? Is it
coming with the distro?

I'm wondering why we don't simply _expect_ that users will install yum on
distros which provide it? Then the command for FC4 would simply be
"yum update yum".

Currently I use the /tftpboot/distro/*.url method a lot (instead of copying in
all the RPMs). This will also be the preferred installation method with
debian. Checking in all the yum RPMs for the distros which already provide it
is a waste of space and will require us to maintain these RPMs (what if bug
fixes are released? who will track this?).

Adding intelligence to download necessary packages from a mirrorlist .url
repository is almost equivalent to reprogram yum and I don't like the idea at
all. Why can't we simply require that FC4 or SuSE users install yum before
they go with OSCAR? And have yum-oscar around only for the distros which don't
include any yum or use a very old version.

The alternative would be to build yum-oscar for all distros, which includes a
bunch of other RPMs: sqlite, python-sqlite, python-urlgrabber,
python-elemnttree. I hate this idea, too...

BTW: In debian you can expect that apt-get is already around.

Regards,
Erich
