Any suggestions here?  It sounds like the "best" solution is just to provide yum-oscar, unless you can somehow change the behaviour of the dumb prereq install to be able to update a package if a newer version is available in the repository.

FYI, i use yum-oscar and since i use it i do not have any issue (my small
cluster is installed).
