Hi bernard
I agree with Erich, you probably shouldn't worry too much about the distro - I guess just choose whichever one works best for you. If you started with ScientificLinux and is quite comfortable with it, I'd say go for it.
Thanx ,i will continue with ScientificLinux......
I just have one comment regarding the kernel - I would not go with 2.6.17. The reason is the SystemImager version we plan to ship with OSCAR 5.0 is still based on 2.6.16.5 and I am afraid that certain hardware will be detected to use different modules depending on which version of kernel you're using. This is potentially problematic and you'll need to look into using UYOK. I am not sure if you have the time to look into this. Just thought I'd like you know in advance. So using whatever is standard with SL is fine, or perhaps go with 2.6.16.5.
I am currently using Scintificlinux2.6.9.. i had build a livecd based on this version... I would like to continue my work on OSCAR by this version...is there any difficulties(regarding dependencies............) if i am use this version ? plzzz give me response
Good luck with your project!Cheers,Bernard
