Both use NFSv3 but server is under Fedora Core 5 with latest updates while clients are all Fedora 7. I recall having this problem with mixed exports several years ago while on kernel 2.4 but it was since then fixed. Perhaps, a regression in Fedora 7 kernel or specific incompatibility in Fedora Core 5 kernel? Fixed it for now by removing 'ro' option in /etc/fstab, this way it sort of mounts everything rw by default but server still won't allow writing to directories exported read-only. RedHat/Fedora is also notorious for adding undocumented options to NFS configuration via /etc/sysconfug/nfs file, it always took me ages to find what they actually do. Setting up NFSv4 is especially tricky... --Ivan ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
