I am very confused because you speak about check-ins that concern only 
systeminstaller and not systemconfigurator.

r6046 was done only in order to temporarily fix a problem we had before to 
have OPKGC. Now this modification can be reverted, i fully agree with your 
analysis on this point.

r6047 only concerns Debian packages, if you revert it, most certainly we will 
not be able to build Debian packages for systeminstaller anymore. I do not 
understand why you want to revert it (no real justification if i understand 
correctly what you mean).
