You should be able to install it using the installation instructions
for MPICH2, just like on any other cluster.

The tools available in OSCAR should make this easier.

You would have to install the package into the image directory  (as if
it were a node machine, using chroot) for it to survive reimaging the
cluster

When I have done non-oscar package in the past, I install any
neccesary software on the head node, then install on a compute node,
then repeat those steps in a chroot in the image directory, then
reimage the cluster.
