We have discussed more closely integrating HA OSCAR and the main line,
and while I think it is a good idea, last I knew I was very much in
the minority.

It is probably outside the scope of a summer project to both learn
OSCAR and reintegrate it to use either use kickstart or systemimager.
As you say, OSCAR is rather tightly tied into the systemimager code
and I think getting it to use Kickstart would be a lot of work. That
being said, it is something that has been talked about on and off for
a long time but no one in the core is especially interested in doing.
So if you want to give it a shot, and can come up with a timeline
where you show you can do it, go ahead and apply!

Subject: [Oscar-devel] DRBD vs Kickstart for OSCAR
To: [email protected]

Hi guys,

What would you guys deem more necessary in oscar, integrating an oscar
package that incorporates drbd and heartbeat as a "default" HA option
for oscar or trying to create an alternative solution for systemimager
in the form of kickstart. I noticed most bugs in OSCAR is in some way
connected to systemimager.

In summary would you guys be interested in seeing some work done by
providing some default HA with OSCAR or providing an alternative to
system imager KICKSTART?
