I do not think this is in the minority but HA-OSCAR already provides some HA mechanisms. That's why they are not directly into OSCAR. So before to think about the integration of HA stuff directly into OSCAR, i think we should discuss about how to do that with the HA-OSCAR team. In other terms, the problem is not just technical, we have to spend time of the "project management" aspects. > > It is probably outside the scope of a summer project to both learn > OSCAR and reintegrate it to use either use kickstart or systemimager. > As you say, OSCAR is rather tightly tied into the systemimager code > and I think getting it to use Kickstart would be a lot of work. I would like to add a point: the support of another provisioning solution is possible (some work is currently done with Perceus). We actually spoke about that during the last OSCAR meeting and clearly the problem is more about how can you do that cleanly. To be more precise, it is out of question to just trash SIS, therefore we need to implement on OCA framework to be able to switch between SIS and something. Thus, a big design effort is necessary and this requires some experience in software engineering and a pretty good knowledge on the OSCAR core. Of course, if you think you have these skills, your application is more than welcome but i think that will be a very challenging and difficult project.
