First, if you wait, the sf.net search usually returns results. I just did
a search, and though it took about 20 seconds, it returned results. For a
free service used by hundred of thousands of people, I'm not disappointed.

If your node is not up, you will not be able to rsync anything to it.
Because of this, rsync procedures will fail. If you are having difficulty
with getting your Davicom adapter to work, see this FAQ item:
http://oscar.sourceforge.net/faq/show.php?version=ALL&key=new-sis-kernel

Basically, try a kernel with support for your adapter, or use a different
adapter. There isn't support for kernel modules at this stage of the
install (yet... it's being worked on). If you can network boot the node
(i.e. PXE boot), then this step would be easier, since you can just
replace the kernel (et al.) in /tftpboot.

Keep in mind that this is a project worked on by a relatively small number
of people. We don't have a book, 22 mirror sites, a news server, translation,
or nearly as many people responding to support requests, as the LFS project
does. We try to respond as quickly as possible, but this is primarily a
during-the-week (as in, many of us do this full time) project. That said,
we try our best to respond ASAP, day, night, weekend, holiday, etc.
