Marc, I have done some preliminary testing with OSCAR 2.0 and RedHat 8.0, and I think it will be some time before we get OSCAR working with RedHat 8.0. The problem is that RedHat 8.0 shipped with Perl 5.8, but RedHat 7.1/7.2/7.3 shipped with Perl 5.6. OSCAR's Perl-Tk and SystemInstaller packages are compiled with Perl 5.6 and do not work with Perl 5.8. While it is possible to download, build, and install Perl-Tk to work with Perl 5.8, SystemInstaller is a bit more troublesome.
So, we are aware of the problem and we are working to find a solution. We hope the solution will work with other distributions (not just RedHat 8.0) that also ship with Perl 5.8.
