Just a thought on your c3 issue... 

If a remote command takes forever to execute, it's typically because
there is a bad name server in /etc/resolv.conf.  It takes a long time
for the first nameserver to fail (timeout) and then trickle to the next
nameserver (repeat til you find one that works!).

So, check /etc/resolv.conf for bad juju... Rich
