Thank you. The link was very useful. To fix my problem, I
had a hard time understanding what localhost line had to be
deleted. My /etc/hosts file looks like this:

------------------------------------------------------
#Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
10.0.0.1 Master.oscardomain Master nfs_oscar pbs_oscar
10.0.0.2 oscarnode2.oscardomain oscarnode2
------------------------------------------------------

Do I have to have the 127.0.0.1 IP in my /etc/hosts file?
If so, what should I name it? Master (like the server name)?
Or localhost.oscardomain? Once I fix the /etc/hosts file, do
I have to re-install OSCAR and start over?

when I type hostname on the server, it says "Master"
when I type hostname on the client, it says "oscarnode2.oscardomain"

This is a known issue, and should have been due to a bad hostname (like
localhost). What does the command `hostname` return?

See
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=9368&atid=109368&func=detail&aid=587602
for more info (I don't know if the link will work, but it was a known
'bug').
