[Oscar-users] Upgrade to gigabit ethernet

Our lab is planning to upgrade our 26 node p4 1.7 linux cluster using fast ethernet to gigabit ethernet.

We're currently using RH 7.1 with OSCAR 1.2.1, with linux kernel 2.4.20. Are there are important things to consider regarding our upgrade?

The gigabit ethernet card we are considering for use is the Intel Gigabit adapter that is supported by 2.4.x, and 2.5.x.

We would appreciate any suggestions that may help us with this transition.
