I'm trying to run a distribued Java system that uses Multicast UDP messages
to talk to other Jave processes on other machines. Basically, each process
searches for other processes, they all talk to each other and start getting
their work done. It's a distribution hack. Outside of the Beowulf cluster,
our software works fine and we have multiple machines talking to each other
with no problems. However, inside the cluster, multicast doesn't seem to
work. Each node when it runs the process can see its own messages, but they
can't see anyone else's. I have shut pfilter down on all the boxes and the
head node in case that was blocking the multicast, but it did not help.
We're using a gigabit switch to connect the nodes, but it doesn't have any
configuration options on it at all. Any tips?
Thanks,
Brian
