I am using redhat9.but my head node don't have any public ipaddress that connect to internet.so it failes to connect to the ntp server is it mandatory for this oscar to have internet connection ???or what is alternative ???    jix

I think that it's a problem with ntp, but I don't know much about ntp.
Maybe someone else on the list does? It looks like you are using RH8.0
with updates installed. Is this the case? Is the head node updated, or
just the RPMs in the /tftpboot/rpm directory? If you are using any
updates (which we do not recommend performing before the installation),
they must be reflected on the server and in the /tftpboot/rpm directory.
