Note that LAM/MPI 7.x uses PBS's native job-launching mechanism (named
"TM") for starting parallel jobs -- not rsh/ssh. Hence, I *think* that if
you set everyone's shell to /bin/false on the compute nodes (not root, of
course!), LAM will still function properly.
I say this with the strong disclaimer that I have not tested this. Could
you give it a whirl with a user or two and see if it works for you?
