This is not the problem per-se, i.e., that the SI kernel and initrd are Mandrake-based. There's another problem, but I haven't tried this to see where the specific problem lies. In the past, I have experienced some issues grossly consistent with your reported behavior that were due to different glibc versions. -- David N.
