Title: [Oscar-users] Adding non-RPM packages to OSCAR client image
Hey Bruce:

Can't you just copy the contents to the /opt directory of the image?  i.e. /var/lib/systemimager/images/<imagename> ?

I believe there were talks of making a package for Intel Compilers and other tools, but I guess there was some licensing issues.

Cheers,

Bernard

Subject: [Oscar-users] Adding non-RPM packages to OSCAR client image

Hello OSCAR friends

We have just discovered the wonders of the Intel compiler suite and I
would like to make these the default compilers for my cluster. Instead of
going through the mission of installing these manually on each node, I
would like to make a new node image, which includes these (in /opt/)  and
re-image the nodes.

I tried just copying the rpms to /tftpboot/rpm, but that didn't work. Then
I tried to hack the image by hand, but that didn't work. Does anyone have
any suggestions for adding packages, or source distributions to a node
image ?

Thanks
bruce
