Second, actually I think the ":" is working, if I do it manually after login like "export MANPATH :/some/man/path:/another/man/path", it works. The problem I think is the ":" in "/opt/modules/modulefiles/oscar-modules/1.0.5" that intend to be at the very beginning of the MANPATH actually blocked by the "/opt/lam-7.0.6/man" added by "/opt/modules/modulefiles/lam/lam-oscar-7.0.6" with command
"prepend-path MANPATH /opt/lam-7.0.6/man"
So there is no ":" at the begining of the MANPATH after this. Stranger thing is if I change the command to
"prepend-path MANPATH :/opt/lam-7.0.6/man" that I expect to work, but actually is not working.
Only the "::" thing works, and I think it's better, since it will work no matter where it sits in MANPATH.
Ahh -- this makes much more sense. We need to prepend the path for the MPI implementations for a variety of reasons, so this is a good fix.
