Did you run yum update before you finish your OSCAR installation? This
causes mismatch between the installed RPMs and the RPMs available in
your /tftpboot/rpm (repository). Anyways I'm glad you figure out the
problem.
No, in fact I never used Yum yet. Perhaps Fedora Core use "Yum update" in
the installation processing...

We noticed the same issue on RHEL3u6, see:

update-rpms should be replaced by yum in OSCAR 5.0 so hopefully this
problem will be resolved.

This can also be resolved by updating your kernel to the latest version.
